Short forms

The online world has changed many things, it has changed the way language is used to communicate as well.

Take for example the case where lol means laughs out loud, but could also mean lots of love

tc means take care, pc means priyanka chopra

Ppl is people, Tweeple are ppl on twitter! and Ipl means Indian premier league!

Lmao is not a new thing, the full form of which is Laughing my ass out. I don’t know how people can do that. Is that how some people’s arses are bigger than others? 😉

I want a demonstration…!

A phone is now fone. Where is now wher, got is gt, that is dat……

I don’t know where i’m going with this… but do lol @ the abov

.

.

Ok, nw gtg, tc, ttyl ppl

The Internet might have been one of the best things to happen to humanity but in the process it has screwed the language for good.

  1. Hahahaha.. I love your explanation on LMAO😂😂

You know, this is very truly written. It’s been a 2 years now I’m only following the standard English. People are becoming habitual of using such things that they will regret later.

    Nice post 🙂

      • Hahah.. Yes!!

I had a Prof in my university who was very detailed person. All he could find out I. Students’ answer sheets was- they were using slangs and American English. Which is not good thing.

  2. True words!! Trust me the hardest is teaching language at school. I have had to create environment where these are strictly banned by me. 😕😕

  3. It was originally meant to shorten sentences because sms had it’s limits. But it seriously got out of hand, so many people mix uppercase and lowercase letters. It just looks like their caps lock had an epileptic attack. Cool is written as Kewl, which makes no sense because it’s not pronounced that way and it has the same amount of letters.😅

  4. So true… but its fine to use these short forms as long as the the person talking to u or reading ur text understands it.. n u know wot.. there are some benefits too… imagine u r talking to a beautiful gal n u type lol (laugh out loud) and she takes it as lol ( lots of love) …<3 <3 <3 <3…. then JACKPOT!!!!! 😂😂

  5. Hi,
I teach spelling to students that text all the time. You are right about the spelling issues. I met you at Danny’s party.
Maybe you can check out my blog if you need a blogging tip or two. That’s what I write about.
