Weight is just a number… as long as we’re healthy, there’s really nothing to worry about – and besides it shows prosperity! (followed by a big smile)
– A line said by those chosen few, who despite all efforts to lose weight – manage to gain more
When people talk about weight, the topic automatically drifts towards women. Weight has always been an issue for women, not so because the men in their life make them feel so, but more so on their own insistence that they look fat or puffy. I’ve never heard a woman ever say – till date, that she’s lost weight, she’s always gaining weight (more like a continuous activity) We men do too, the only difference being – we don’t talk about it, its just one of those things... ‘The Indian pot belly’ – that deserves an individual post by itself.
..but then we can’t keep worrying about our expanding waist-line now – can we? Yes, we can do a lot to reduce, exercise (go to the gym), swim, jog, drink green tea, zumba classes etc… but then eventually we get bored with all of it. Weight once gained is pretty hard to lose. Personally speaking, for a good part of my life, I’ve maintained a healthy 65-67 kilograms, to only be shocked last week – on checking my weight, it currently stands at a very BOLD 84 kilograms.
How? when? why? – answers of which I do not really have.
Weight is a funny thing, you never know when it creeps up on you
If there’s ever been a steady growth in my life, it has been my weight and like petrol prices in India, it rarely takes a backward step.
Cheers to eating!
Cheers to food!
Live and let live…
for who knows what the world has to offer in the future
Many such tomorrow’s have come and gone in my life, and today as I stand at 5 feet 7 inches, 84 kgs and only 36 years of my life behind me, I know I have a long way to go… and it’s only gonna get more interesting – that’s for sure!
Are you proud of your number?
