…4 days counting and I am still in this blessed city – lovingly called Mumbai, by its locals.
My heartbeat has increased to the rate of knots
My speech has gotten 5 times faster 😲
My English speaking skills has suddenly been taken over by Hindi (broken hindi usually) 😝😝
…and everything just seems like a blur.. moving fast. One second its there, the next second its gone, be it a train, bus, taxi or the man standing next to you. All this in the 96 hours that I have spent here. Life does move at some pace here.
It is absolutely crazy how Mumbai works.
I can barely contstruct a gramatically correct Hindi sentence, when the shopkeeper has asked me 4 more! 🙄 I am still breathing… give me a break!
WHY ARE YOU MUMBAIKARS IN A HURRY!? Can you slow down for us non-mumbaikars?
As someone I met in Mumbai said to me the other day “Its in the air of Mumbai…”
Most certainly it is.. I can see no other explanation.
. B U T .
I have the utmost respect for the people who live in Mumbai..
It’s a place you’ll find every kind of person, everyone cramming for a little bit of their own space in an already over crowded location.
3 days spent in Mumbai and I want to run away from here back to Goa. How the local mumbaikars thrive here is beyond my understanding!
You’ve got to love the spirit of Mumbai though, despite all the difficulties they face, you’ll always find a smiling face and laughter around you…
So Goodbye Mumbai, for now atleast. I’ll see you again. Hopefully not very soon..in 4-5 years from now. You’ll be changed, more expensive and whole lot more crowded. But I will adjust like I always do. Write a blog post, compain a little about you, praise you a little and breathe a sigh of relief when I am sitting on that train back to Goa, back home.
