Appreciating the little things

When you’re having an end-of-the-day whatsapp chat with a friend and you get asked the standard question

“How was your day?”

..the least thing we wanna do.. is talk about our day. Aren’t we just glad that the day is over and we get to now rest and leave what’s past in the PAST?

But it wasn’t just the standard question she asked, but the follow up question..

“Three things you appreciated about today?”

Stumped to say the least… I didn’t anticipate a question like that come my way. I mean what was I to say?

Imagine you’re mind being put to work at 23:23 hours

In a world where people don’t even bother smiling at one other while crossing each other during the day, let alone taking time out to ask about someone’s day or take a personal interest in another’s life

..and then there comes one gem of a person – perfect strangers 24 hours before.
You know how there are some people you can just connect with instantly? She was definitely one of them.

Who says age, distance and sex are barriers to great friendships?

Appreciate the little things. Give a short person a hug. Short people mug. 11oz
..on a lighter note

Things to appreciate in your life .. even if we don’t actually pay attention to them around us…

..the free clean air we breathe
..the love and prayers of someone that has kept us alive another day (to see a sunrise)
..shoes on my feet to take me places
..our parents.
..access to the internet (to reach out to the many people across the globe… and to you lovely readers)

Of course there are so many more things we ought to appreciate life for… what’s yours?

What are the three things you appreciate about today?

Thank You so much 🙂 ..and yes it is always the ‘little things’ over the BIG ones

  2. Nice read Savio. 3 things… Firstly I bought my favorite gulab jamun and jalebi to feast on today..secondly, I thought of making channa (chickpeas) curry today as everyone in the family likes it and thankfully a packet of it was at home else it would be at the brink of getting over always and thirdly a friend from the virtual world appreciated my recent post and said it was an awesome read and No, I’m not bragging. It really made me happy..☺️☺️
