“What do you for fun”? she asked
I thought.. and thought a little more.. and then I said..
“When I was young I…”
and she repeated her question “Savio, what do you do for fun now?”
I didn’t have an answer. I couldn’t remember anything fun I’ve done in a really reallly realllly long time
I’m sure as adults, we all want to feel it again, but we can’t seem to have that “fun” feeling anymore. Not that we’ve not tried.. but it just isn’t the same. We can’t seem to enjoy our life like a child anymore.
We may think playing is for kids and children, and that playing is “OptionaL” as an adult. Besides, where’s the time to play?
Does ‘play’ mean that we need a ball or a pack of cards in our hands to play? Not exactly.. Life can be playful too, bring the playful nature to your workplace, when you’re talking to friends or to lighten the mood in a serious meeting… or just simply laugh!
Fun is the time that you enjoy.. in the situation you find yourself in… Enjoyment is just another word for fun. You wouldn’t want to quit fun, besides time flies faster when you’re having fun..
Even if I have to think back on my younger days, FUN was not a quality you’d have associated with me particularly – RELIABILITY, DEPENDABILITY, FRIENDLY were more the qualities that got attached to me, for the kind of person that I was back then. I guess I’ve always thought of what fun meant for me was – more of a going wild and letting go of one’s inhibitions (going by that, I’d have lived a very serious life till now) I do like to be in CONTROL at most times, its difficult for me to be in a position where I do not know what’s happening around me (that rules out the concept of surprises too)
Does having a hobby and cultivating it classify as having fun? Well.. if so, in that case different people have different hobbies, in a way each one has his own way to have fun.
Playing Video Games/Sports, Watching Movies/drama’s/plays, Partying, Listening to Songs, Writing, Reading Books/ Novels/ Stories or some kind of art are all ways of different people having fun
When it comes to talking about what you do for fun, REMEMBER that enjoyment — much like beauty — is in the eye of the beholder.
What you find fun isn’t necessarily what other people would find fun
I guess fun has different meanings for different ages.
What’s the fun thing you do?
