Need ‘to be someone’ ..’to do something’

Everyone wants to be someone and to do something in life that will make them feel proud of their achievements.

There’s a new word floating around in everyone’s mind these days -Start Up? word and everyone seems excited about. Sound really cool isn’t it? It’s the new fad. I may not know too much about it myself, so I thought the best thing to do was.. ‘google about it’ and I got the following:

What is a Start-Up?

startup is a young company that is just beginning to develop. Startups are usually small and initially financed and operated by a handful of founders or one individual and these companies offer a product or service that is not currently being offered elsewhere in the market.

Okay! Maybe I am not qualified to talk about a serious topic like a Startup, lets leave it to the people with the business heads. Here, I’m not talking about starting up a company or anything of that sort, but for those enterprising people who want to start something on their own – could be one kind of a start-up maybe? It couldn’t be that difficult to think up of something different and unique to find ways to make money.

Now to broadly categorize people in the world-there are basically two kinds of people, the enterprising ones that want to start something of their own and others who are content working for other people. Both ways are cool, as long as there is a constant money flow happening.

While nowadays many people don’t want to ‘be told what to do’ and ‘work according to rules’..they end up with starting up with something of their own, which going by the recent trend seems to be the way forward but then.. there is always that risk factor ‘WHAT IF?!’ Yes those two words specifically (What if?!) that people like me.. will not want to take a chance because if there’s one thing you can’t predict is ‘response’. We can plan for a lot of things but eventually we still would want a positive response right? Will my idea work? Will it bomb? Will I get any customers..questions that will haunt you from the day you start business.
That’s where sometimes I feel – the safest option is to work under a company or an institute that can provide you that cushion, that security you need at least initially and then maybe, if you can gather up some confidence and a little capital, you could start up something small of your own gradually.

I know a few friends who have started their own small businesses and like every businessman/woman will tell you, while it is tough in the initial stages, you just need to keep going hoping that somewhere..sometime you might strike gold, or sometimes even silver will do. It’s a chance you need to take, if it does well, great but then you will also have to have a back up plan, just in case plan A fails. However that said, the motive shouldn’t only be to earn money but to deliver quality, in whatever field it may be.

Like everyone I have a vision..a dream too. How much can I make that dream a reality needs to be seen. I know I can do it..I am definitely blessed with the talent for it. I’ve already taken a few steps in that its more like a leap of faith and the rest will follow.

People from around the country are looking at Goa. Most of whom who are already running successful business ventures around the state. Goa is throwing up new ideas on an everyday basis..what’s yours? what’s mine..? Time to make our small contribution maybe?

The bus Journey

Sometimes all you can do is steal glances at that pretty girl in the bus…and you’ll be lucky if you have a moment or two when your eyes get locked with each other. I had 3 such moments – of a couple of seconds each.

If you get a chance, watch her toes too…oh yes (Toes tell a story too.. click HERE to find out) ..and she was wearing a Lee Cooper white t-shirt and a few strands of her hair kept falling on her face, with the breeze blowing from the window (which looked really nice if you ask me) which she also kept putting behind her ears. She tucked her hair into a ponytail (I love when girls tie their hair into a ponytail) , that kept bouncing every time the bus went over a spread breaker.

Some girls are just…so pretty to watch..a whole 45 minutes (that’s how long a bus takes in Goa to reach from Margao 2 Panjim) ..oh wait! she’s got down one stop before the Panjim Bus stand – make that 35 minutes.

Traveling by bus is actually a lot of fun..observing the various kinds of passengers, while most of them are either texting, listening to music on their phones or dozing off, they’ll always be that odd passenger who will entertain the rest in the bus, either by talking really loud on his phone or to his co-passenger and the rest of us are all forced to over-hear them.

Of course nothing tops, having a pretty girl in the bus, that everyone in the bus will look at.. when getting in, getting off or during the journey (like me)

A girl/ woman has got to be one of God’s best creations. Yes, HE made the world, the birds, the animals.. the bees and all.. but women top it all.

Cheers to that!

Goa Election GAME – Poll Results

Herald headline

This was what the Headlines said on Goa’s most loved newspaper, The Herald. Now that we are the end of the day and the polling results declared, we have a winner – there’s happiness and there’s sadness, but like the headlines rightly say

…but will people win? Guess that will remain a question to be answered for the next 5 years, till of course people either start praising or complaining of what the elected party had done, not done or undone.

I’m not very high on politics but I do understand a thing or two on how the system works, having some people I know who are in the field or closely related.

So we have the Congress party++.. (or wait! there could be a slip between the cup and the lip) on who will look after (look after being a very relative term) Goa for the next 5 years.

Good Luck Goa and Goans

Every Indian knows that all political parties are corrupt, sometimes its just about voting for the lesser evil.

I guess a few people would have this on their mind..

Now that the new govt is here…   as a new chapter begins.

Goa Votes

Voting Day. No Alcohol Day. Holiday – that’s 4th Feb 2017 for you

Don’t waste your vote. Vote wisely.

Put GOA first and vote for the betterment of the state

I’m done voting 30 minutes after the poll booths opened at 7 a.m, pretty early you’d think. I like to surprise myself sometimes 😉

7 a.m – 5 p.m – 4th February 2017

I feel so good..

I wake up in the morning
I wake up with a smile
I can see the sun is shining
I can hear the birds sing
It’s such a beautiful morning
There’s a rainbow in the sky
I cannot help but thinking
It’s such a beautiful life

I feel so good

I feel so nice

I feel so goooood

I feel so niceee

And why do we worry
why do we sigh
for all that we need
is happiness inside
I know its not easy
but we can always try
to live a haaappppy
a happy life

I feel so good

I feel so nice

I feel so gooood

I feel so niceeee

Why do we complicate our lives, when we can keep it very simple
and why do we procrastination, when we have a life in front of us?

Such a beautiful world…

Such a beautiful life…

I feel so good

I feel so nice..

Simple words, yet so much meaning behind it. Sung by our very own Dr Varun Carvalho, this is only one of the many songs he has sung of course.

So now you know when this doctor isn’t at his clinic.. he’s most probably home composing a song 😉

Needless to say, this video is shot in Goa (Panjim) Listen & enjoy..a catchy tune. You hear it a few times and you’ll find yourself humming to it 🙂

Did you feel good after watching & listening to the video? If you did-share it. Make someone else feel good too 🙂

BRICS – in Goa

This is what the 1st page of a Goan newspaper looks like…

So the BRICS summit is happening in Goa-South Goa, 15th & 16th (ie today and tomorrow). The BIG guys are here from Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa and our very own NaMo from India.

As we all know what happens when the biggies are visiting any state in India, the state activities are brought to a halt, not totally but enough to get people irritated. There has been enough talk about how ‘things’ have been put into 5th gear to get the state ready for this summit. South Goa has got a face lift..which is good, but the question to ask is ‘For how long?’

While the BRICS summit ends on the 16th of Oct, N.Modi will be in Goa till the 17th and its only on the 18th that Goa comes back to normal. The Goa C.M says, BRICS is good for Goa, it remains to be seem how Goa is benefited by it.

ALL EYES ON is GOA all the way – on newspapers, news channels and social media, for 2 days at least.

** P.S : That’s a pic (on the right bottom) of our Chief Minister [Goa], Mr Laxmikant Parsekar. Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi (left bottom) looks a hero with the white hair and beard to match.

Young Frankenstein

Went for a wonderful play ‘Young Frankenstein’ – A Musical Comedy. What fun it was, I enjoyed myself a lot. It was worth every rupee I paid for it. Rs. 400 doesn’t count for much if you get to watch a quality play by an equally extremely talented cast. Kudos to the director Leila Alvares.

About the Play

Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchback side kick Igor and a leggy lab assistant Inga, Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. “It’s alive!” he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather’s. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds. Add a little theatrical flair to that, it was certainly a  3 hours of good entertainment.

I especially loved the tunes of Please don’t touch me, Roll in the Hay, Join the family businessHe vas my boyfriend and Deep Love. I don’t remember of many opportunities where I have laughed harder. Its plays like these that make me really happy.

If there’s an English play in your area and you need company, call me. I’ll be there!

Thank You The C.A.U.S.E Foundation, and Leila Alvares (Play director). A day well ended.

‘The Siddhus Of Upper Juhu’

I went to watch an English play called the ‘The Siddhus Of Upper Juhu’ with dad yesterday evening. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it, Rajit Kapur & Shernaz Patel were excellent (the husband-wife duo).
Though it lasted just for 90 minutes or so, it entertained all through.

The play is set on the 14th floor apartment in a fancy locality. To begin with, I found the names hilarious ~ Rajit Kapoor {Balvinder aka Bubbles Siddhu}, an ageing financial executive and his Parsi wife Shernaz Patel {Behroze}

It’s not all hunky-dory living in the fancy locality on the 14th floor…the walls are paper thin and crumbling, the neighbors are annoying, the plumbing is a mess, the howling of stray dogs outside awakens them at midnight etc. Just when they think things cannot get any worse, the Siddhus are burgled and Bubbles is sacked from his job. Eventually, this city life takes a toll on him and he has a nervous breakdown!

If you think the story goes all down hill from there…you’re mistaken. You need to watch it to know how it all turns out. Bubbles is excellent with his fantastic dialogues and expressions. Though there are 3 other characters in the play but you really don’t remember them much, its Bubbles and Behroze all the way!

With the conclusion of the Holy Week (40 days of fasting) with Easter, its wedding time again in Goa. A few weddings lined up (okay! not few, 2 wedding invitations so far 😀 ).. A colleague of mine gets married in 12 days time…a very sweet girl 🙂 Though she is getting married in a church 33.9 kms from where I live, I wouldn’t miss it.

I’m not big on attendance when it comes to weddings but then there are some weddings I wouldn’t miss, simply because these people mean a lot to me.

Here’s the card below:

See the simplicity in the card? I liked it 🙂 I’ve encircled my name there in Red…why? Simply because it has MY NAME on it… 🙂 Well, I don’t get too many invitations in my name and it feels good to see my name on a card envelope… tho’ technically – Yes technically the ‘fly’ would indicate my family (my wife & kids) but since I’m still single…it means dad, mum and sis 🙂

There’s another wedding before that…I’m not going, I’m very picky for whose weddings I attend. Its a tragedy that I have a weak stomach when it comes to eating food from out..I really enjoy food served at Goan weddings.

Before that, I think I need to check if my suit pant fits, I might just be carrying a little bit of Easter weight around 🙂

36 degress in GOA!

Dear Sun,

What the FUCK is wrong with seriously! It’s not funny anymore! You have already proved to us that you are the hottest thing going around in Goa…we all admit it. Now at least can you cut down on the heat?

Please stop showing off. It’s getting unbearable.

A sweaty Goan.
