The Epic Love Story

When it comes to epic, larger than life, mind blowing love, there is no topping..

Jack & Rose

Exactly 20 years and 4 days on [to this day].. and they still live on in our hearts. While we all thought there was enough place for Rose and Jack on that raft.. yet the film makers chose to have Jack die.. for their love story to be etched in our hearts forever. It also could have been a brain freeze moment for Jack considering he was in water with temperature of around 28°F and the mind barely works well in such conditions.

The scene was iconic: Jack bids Rose a goodbye, letting her stay safe on the raft as it floats away from the sinking Titanic, leaving his fate sealed in the icy waters.

That said, there are so many such moments & scenes in the movie, that leave the viewer to just “wow” at the wonderful film ever to be made. Personally, I might have watched it over 20 times at least.. but did miss out the opportunity to watch it in 3D, which I do regret [of course at that time it was for maybe a particular scene(s)]

Some of my most favorite dialogues of the movie would be.. [and maybe yours too]

Rose: ” Don’t come any closer , I’ll let go!”

Jack:”No you won’t!”

Rose:”You’re crazy!”

Jack:”That’s what everybody says, but with all due respect miss.. I’m not the one hanging off the back of the ship here”

Jack:” Just give me your hand and I’ll pull you back over.”

Rose:” No, I’ll let go.”

Jack:”You let go and I’m, I’m gonna have to jump in there after you!”

Rose:”You’d be killed!”

Jack”I’m a good swimmer!”

Rose:”The fall alone would kill you”

Jack:”To tell you the truth, I’m a lot more concerned about that water being so cold.”

Jack: “I remember when I was a kid. Me and my father,we went ice fishing on Lake Wissota. Ice fishing is you know where you..”

Rose: “I know what ice fishing is !”

Jack:”Sorry. You just seem like, you know, kind of an indoor girl!”

Jack: ”I got everything I need right here with me.I got air in my lungs and a few blank sheets of paper. I mean I love waking up in the morning not knowing what’s gonna happen or who I’m gonna meet, where I’m gonna wind up.Just the other night I was sleeping under a bridge and now here I am on the grandest ship in the world, having champagne with you fine people”

Jack: ”Hold on Hold on, keep your eyes closed..Do you trust me?”

Rose: ”I trust you.”

Rose: “I’m flying”

Rose: “Jack I want you to draw me like one of your french girls..wearing this”

Jack:”Alright”

Rose:”Wearing only this”

Jack:”Rose!.. you’re so stupid…Why’d you do that, huh?” You’re so stupid Rose! Why did you do that, WHY?”

Rose: ”You jump, I jump right?”

You’d think what kind of an insane woman would jump back on board a sinking ship? But that’s True Love for you!!

Rose – “I love you, Jack”

Jack – “Don’t you do that, don’t say your good-byes.”
Titanic wasn’t just a movie, it was REAL. It feels that way, at least when I watch it. Ever since I watched the movie (& subsequent movies shot on board ships/cruise liners), I’ve always wanted to go on a ship cruise myself..let’s see when that materializes (if ever)
What was your favorite scene/dialogue from the movie?

Miracles from Heaven

This is a very human-feeling drama that’s still all about God’s priorities, God’s choices and God’s timing.

I couldn’t have watched a more beautiful film than the one I watched a couple of hours ago. The movie was Miracles from Heaven and though it was a film released  last year in March 2016, I only got to know of it while searching for ‘faith based movies‘ (to be exact with the keywords I used on google search) Having just finished watching a movie in a similar genre, namely ‘What if… God gave you a second chance? led me to see if there were other such movie similar to that.

It was said that the movie Miracles from Heaven is based on a real story that actually happened, a book was written by Annabelle’s mother which was later turned into the movie. I would love to get my hands of that book too, when I do.

The synopsis of the movie being: 10 year old Anna Beam lives with a rare, incurable disorder that leaves her unable to digest food. Despite the dire diagnosis, devoted mom Christy relentlessly searches for a way to save her beloved daughter. Everything changes in an instant when Anna tells an amazing story of a visit to heaven after surviving a headlong tumble into a tree. Her family and doctors become even more baffled when the young girl begins to show signs of recovering from her fatal condition.

I am glad I came across this movie, downloaded it and watched it. Definitely worth investing an hour and 45 minutes for the film.

What was it that led me to this movie or even do the google search I did, I’m not really sure  but I guess sometimes you just do certain things that you aren’t really sure of. I’m not someone who is generally moved by watching a film, but then there are some that well.. just leave a lasting impression on you, like this one did to me

From the performances to the cinematography, it is a film well made. A special mention goes out to Jenifer Garner who shines in the role of a mother, definitely not an easy role to do but dos justice to it.

A definite tear-jerker. Do watch the movie if you get the chance.

If you want to watch another wonderful movie, by now I’ve got a list of them.. OctoberBABY – another must watch. I could go on.. on to watching my next movie now.
